KitchenAid Tilt Head mixer adjustment screw, this screw is used to adjust the head height of the mixer, so that the beater doesn't hit the bowl, but still is close enough to mix all the ingredients.

Turning this screw in will lower the head of the mixer, and turning it out will raise the head height.  To find the the perfect adjustment do the "dime test"

How to do the Dime Test on a KitchenAid Tilt Head Mixer:

Put the Flat beater on this mixer, and the bowl on the mixer.  Put a dime in the bottom of the bowl, put the head of the mixer down and lock it.

Turn the mixer onto speed one - the beater should flick the dime around the bottom of the bowl as it goes around, if it is not hitting the dime, turn the screw in a quarter turn and repeat the test.  If it is too close to the bottom of the bowl and hitting the bowl then turn the screw out a quarter of a turn and repeat the test.
